Quantum communication with itinerant surface acoustic wave phonons

چکیده

Surface acoustic waves are commonly used in classical electronics applications, and their use quantum systems is beginning to be explored, as evidenced by recent experiments using Fabry-P\'erot resonators. Here we explore for communication, where demonstrate a single-phonon surface wave transmission line, which links two physically-separated qubit nodes. Each node comprises microwave phonon transducer, an externally-controlled superconducting variable coupler, qubit. Using this system, precisely-shaped individual itinerant phonons coherently transfer information between the physically-distinct nodes, enabling high-fidelity node-to-node of states well generation two-node Bell state. We further dispersive interactions emitted from one interacting with remote node. The observed promise future optics-style phonons.

Surface-acoustic-wave-induced transport in a double quantum dot.

We report on nonadiabatic transport through a double quantum dot under irradiation of surface acoustic waves generated on chip. At low excitation powers, absorption and emission of single and multiple phonons are observed. At higher power, sequential phonon assisted tunneling processes excite the double dot in a highly nonequilibrium state. The present system is attractive for studying electron...

TiO2 based surface acoustic wave gas sensor with modified electrode dimensions for enhanced H2 sensing application

The design and optimization of nanostructure-based surface acoustic wave (SAW) gas sensor is analyzed based on TiO2 sensing layer and modified electrode dimensions. The sensitivity of the gas sensor depends upon the type of sensing layer used and active surface area obtained by varying the aspect ratio. The performance of the sensor is observed from 0.1ppm to 100ppm concentration of ...

Coherent Acoustic Phonons in a Semiconductor Quantum Dot

Coherent acoustic phonons in PbS quantum dots are observed using femtosecond optical techniques. This is the first observation of coherent acoustic phonons in a semiconductor quantum dot; the phonons are generated through the deformation-potential coupling to the quantum-dot exciton. The acoustic modes are weakly damped, and we also find extremely weak coupling (S , 0.01) to the optical modes. ...

Dephasing in quantum dots: quadratic coupling to acoustic phonons.

A microscopic theory of optical transitions in quantum dots with a carrier-phonon interaction is developed. Virtual transitions into higher confined states with acoustic phonon assistance add a quadratic phonon coupling to the standard linear one, thus extending the independent boson model. Summing infinitely many diagrams in the cumulant, a numerically exact solution for the interband polariza...

Control of coherent acoustic phonons in semiconductor quantum wells.

Using subpicosecond optical pump-probe techniques, coherent zone-folded longitudinal acoustic phonons (ZFLAPs) were investigated in an InGaN multiple quantum well structure. A two-pump differential transmission technique was used to generate and control coherent ZFLAP oscillations through the relative timing and amplitude of the two pump pulses. Enhancement and suppression of ZFLAP oscillations...
